You got the white stuff, baby

I normally write my blogs on a Sunday, probably because they are showing utter rubbish on tv and its the one day my brain is not full of work; so why Friday this week? Because I can.....I have had a thoroughly relaxing day off and my thoughts are turning to tomorrow - when at 11.15 I will be dancing (by myself in my office at work)

It's not hammer time it's DDD time, for those not used to the abbreviations like POFQ (Port Orleans French Quarter) or FP (Fastpass) tomorrow marks our double digit dance - Emma you are off the hook, I won't be embarrassing you this year unlike last year when it happened on a Sunday so we had the dance at Bluewater

So what will I be dancing to, this looks like a good choice

This week has been pretty quiet all round, literally as I have had laryngitis and can hardly speak and James had had a bout of man flu. But we did take time to enjoy the snow last weekend, although personally I would have preferred a bit more

As far as holiday planning goes I haven't really done much; shock horror!!! As always I have been checking out my favourite websites and keeping up to date on the news - a bit disappointed that we won't be there when the Starbucks opens in Magic Kingdom (planned to open on May 18th) but also a little bit pleased as this used to be one of our little resting places; a great spot to cool down and people watch

The Flower and Garden Festival will be on and this year includes some food kiosks including a smokehouse barbecue at the American Adventure Gardens and a trifles and tea at the UK pavilion

All this talk is making me hungry so I'm off to get my dinner; here's my favourite picture taken last weekend in the snow ( thanks Emmie Lou) xxxx

It's all white

Anyone would think that there was some major catastrophe affecting the UK right now, oh yes of course a few flakes of snow have fallen and everything grinds to a halt.

Personally I love the white stuff and have been gazing longingly out of the window for most of the day wishing the heavens would open and I would see snow flakes the size of my head falling but to date no such luck.

I did however spot a Virgin Atlantic flight coming into land - wow that must have been a shock weather wise. At least the sight of the plane pulled me back in reality and the thought that soon it will be less than 100 days until I next visit the land of the mouse; and I promise much to my sisters embarrassment I will be doing my double digit dance when it comes round.

This week Disney announced MyMagic+, which is a combination of an app, Fastpass+ and the Disney magic band which takes the place of your room key and park passes (apparently signing up to this is optional) but I will be interested to hear how this works

The other thing that I found out this weekend is that the Disney Ultimate ticket which is only available to UK guests who stay on site now includes a round of mini golf each day (before 4pm) at either Winter summer land or Fantasia Gardens.

This is great news for me and James as we always fit a game of mini golf into our holiday, I like to win! So I need to add at least 1 visit to my plan, probably to Fantasia Gardens as this is an easy walk (or boat ride) from Epcot or Hollywood Studios and is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the park - just remember you are outside in the Florida sun so you need to stay hydrated

On that note I am off on snow watch - until next time xxx

I go on holiday this year!!!!

Most people wake up on New Year's Day thinking what did I do last night, I am never drinking again...not me I woke up thinking those fireworks last night were really irritating and the disturbed sleep was going to make a complete grump for the rest of the day.

This was not the start to 2013 I was hoping for, thankfully there was something to make me smile when I realised I could say that I am going back to Disney this year! It's surprising how much of a difference something so simple can make.

This year we are heading back in May which means we will be there for the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, this year will be the 20th festival and the topiarys at the park entrance will celebrate this with the inclusion of an anniversary cake (or so the rumour mill says). Previous front of park topiaries have been toy story with a strawberry scented lotso bear which always made me hungry.

Every year we take loads of pictures including this one, so I am sure I will share more once we return:

The news is full of talk about New Years resolutions, diets, quitting this and that but no matter how many good intentions people have the new year is never a good time to make a life change and think I must stick to it; after all most people's houses are probably like mine and still full of sweets left over from Christmas

I say all of that but today I have set myself a challenge (admittedly I can't take the credit for this idea - I have borrowed it from 2 very nice dibbers) but over the next year to 18 months I am going to try and walk or bike (on an exercise bike) the distance from my house to Walt Disney World -yes I know I have completely lost the plot

But before that I am going to put my feet up and eat some more chocolate orange whilst thinking I really must do some housework - until next time
