I feel a song coming on.......

Does anyone want to join me in a song? What shall we sing......well I was thinking about I get so emotional by Whitney Houston; now I can just imagine the faces you are all pulling right now but I promise I'm not actually going to post some dodgy video of me singing it on you tube but the song sums up my thoughts on Disney this week

I am definitely in that I can't wait to go back mood, so maybe it was wrong....no foolish to sit and read a book about someone going to work at Disney and their first experience of Wishes whilst in the canteen at work.....I could feel myself welling up; so after a quick look around to make sure no one had seen me I closed my book and started to ponder....
What brings the lump to my throat or the tear to my eye, and what exactly is it that causes it; that is a whole let of questions for my little brain but I was up for the challenge as it meant I had a little light relief from thinking about work

So let's start with the what which could be an endless list but there are 3 that come to mind straight away Wishes, Finding Nemo the musical (I thought that was a bit weird but having read some threads on the net this week I have discovered I am not the only one) and the final one is my favourite scene in Philharmagic

The more difficult question to ask is what is it about them that have this effect and after much thought I have come up with no good explanation what so ever......it's just magic and I love it. Actually maybe that's why we keep going back, it's not what we do but how I feel - get me getting all philosophical

On top of the personal favourites there are also the random things that happen while you are there that although they don't happen to you make you smile; like watching Mickey and Minnie interacting
with a little girl with special needs - it was as if no one else was there and properly made her day or the mom being reunited with her daughter who was in the military

So what is the purpose of this blog you may ask? Unless you have a heart made of granite don't expect to not be at least a little bit moved by Disney. It will sneak up on you when you least expect it; actually it might not even happen while you are there but maybe when you are sitting minding your own business, something someone says, something you may read, or something you see may remind you of "this one time at Disney World" and you will find yourself smiling

I'm off to find a video of Wishes and go to my happy place now where did I put that tissue; until next week xxxx

Jealous, me? Well maybe a little....

I'm not sure if I have mentioned before I love Disneys vinylmations, if you don't know what they are I will try and explain....they are vinyl Mickey Mouse shaped characters that have images on them; boy I really suck at this don't I? So here is an example (as you can see it's mickey shaped but decorated to look like crush and squirt)
Now these definitely divide the Disney community as they are a real love them or hate them thing; but I'm sure as Emmie Lou will tell you I love them and have quite a collection at home

Anyway what has this got to do with holiday planning, well last week Disney released Blank - A vinylmation love story; which is a short stop motion film where  a blank Minnie and Mickey fall in love........the Disney Park Blog hosted a special RSVP screening event which I would love to have attended

You see, a couple of years ago James and I got to attend a Disney Parks Blog event; I had heard rumblings that every now and then they post about exclusive events and you have to RSVP. Our trip just happened to co-incide with a Disney Mom's Panel fan meet up, we had seen Emma from the Phil, Ben and Emma videos was going to be there so we applied for what was advertised as an exclusive lunch event.

A couple of days later an email dropped into the inbox saying we were invited, the lunch was being held at the Contemporary resort in the California Grill, James and I had never been before so it was a win win situation.
The lunch was incredible as was the venue, as a person whose scared of heights I was a bit worried but couldn't help myself from going outside and taking in the view and on top of that we did get to meet Emma and found her to be just as lovely in real life

So what is the reason for this blog, it's to say that if you have access to the internet whilst you are away keep your eyes on the Disney parks blog because you never know when these events are going to take place, and it's an exclusive bit of magic for free

Until next week xxxxx

There may be trouble ahead.....

Today me, James and Emmie Lou took a trip to Bluewater; it seemed the safest option considering the temperamental weather we are having right now.....after all we had thunder and hail yesterday in February. I am beginning to think someone forgot to tell Mother Nature what season it is, either that or she is hormonal - answers on a postcard please

Anyway back to the point, every year when we are on holiday we pay a visit to Walmart on the first full day there and then there is the shopping trip (Walmart, premium outlets and then Florida mall) but I am starting to think me and Emmie Lou are going to have a bit of a shopping addiction and our lists maybe out of control

While we were in Boots looking at make up we came across a gel nail varnish treatment that comes with a very cute little UV lamp for setting them; now me and Em love painting our nails (it's just a pain that I am not allowed to wear nail varnish at work)

I would have brought it in a flash but for one thing; £35 for the starter kit (which does include 1 colour) and then £15 for each extra colour, even I could feel my bank account going into spasm especially since I have already spent the earth on concert tickets this week (worth every penny though)

We were curious about it so I searched you tube and found a video on how to use the kit and then the lady said I got mine from Walmart for $25; WHAT!!! Right now with the exchange rate that's just over £16 and each additional colour is about £5.....
I am starting to think I will wait until we go to Walmart where my trolley is going to be full of nail stuff, secret deodorant (I'm gonna run out before we go back and I'm heartbroken) and lots of make up; then there is the shopping trip (I need to start my research now)

After a trip to Yankee Candle, Bath and Bodyworks and the Disney Outlet that's where the trouble is gonna start; for one my customs allowance is only about £330 and then there is the issue about packing everything to get it home - do you think if I start working on James now that he will come round to my way of thinking that he doesn't need to buy/ take anything?

A girl can always dream; until next week xxx

What, again? xxx

Ok people be prepared for a rant this week, instead of my normal random ramblings........

What is it with people, I don't understand how they can be so quick to pass comment on other peoples choices? I have been out and about with work a lot this week (with varying degrees of success I might add, no thanks to a bus company who sent out a driver who needed to ask directions from the passengers).

Anyway back to the point, so I am at a meeting and someone there asked me about my holiday plans for this year - and before I even had chance to answer they were telling me they didn't know why they asked because of course I was predictable and would be going back to Disney and wouldn't I rather do something else!

Err, excuse me I don't tell you what to do with your money or how to spend your time so what business is it of yours? And then they followed it up with another predictable statement, isn't Disney for children why do you go when you don't have any?

Oh my goodness, it took all of my resolve to stop me from smacking them; yes James and I don't have children but why should that stop us from enjoying a magical holiday?  Just because you are dull as dishwater and appear to have lost the ability to engage with your inner child that's not my problem; each to their own. I totally understand that Disney isn't for everyone but don't knock it until you've tried it!

Walt Disney was very aware that some people lose the ability to imagine and dream as he is quoted as saying "that's the problem with the world today, too many people grow up".I am proud to be a dreamer it makes day to day life a whole lot easier to deal with at times

So just so we are clear Mickey Mouse is real, as are Fairies and Princesses, I have met my Prince Charming and everything in life can be made better with a song - so there!!! All I need to do now is train some animals to come and do my housework and were sorted

Til next week xxxx
